This cherry dresser was damaged by the placement of a humidifier atop the
dresser for some period of time. The dresser itself is of good quality
construction and the top of the dresser is solid maple. The customer
contacted the manufacturer and received no assistance of any value,
basically being told that she was out of luck. She was very much afraid that
she'd ruined the dresser and that it would have to be completely refinished.
After careful
examination of the nature of the damage and the type of finish on the
dresser, it was felt that this would be a rather straightforward repair.
About 15 minutes of careful work the stain was completely gone. No evidence
of the damage remained. Needless to say, the client was extremely relieved. |
